“green” is not a trend… it’s their future.

“Every purchase you make is essentially a vote for your children’s future and the world you wish to leave them. Small changes in daily routines can significantly impact the environment, and much like wearing a seatbelt in a car, this must become automatic for us and the next generation.”

Going green is a conscious choice. But deciding which “shade of green” feels right is an individual and evolutionary process. My first green “ah-ah" moment occurred while standing on the grocery check-out line. Armed with my re-usable cotton grocery bags, I felt pride that I was contributing to the "green movement." But, as each of my items rolled by on the conveyor belt, an unmistakable paradox faced me head on: paper napkins, paper plates, plastic food wrap, plastic cups, aluminum foil… the list went on… individually wrapped cookies, bottled water... and the list went on!

From that moment forward, I was inspired to turn a new “eco-corner” and deepen my selected “shade of green.” In fact, I discovered right then, that green was nothing more than a set of habits which could constantly improve and evolve. Small changes in my purchasing decisions were the logical trade-off in helping my three children inherit a cleaner planet. My commitment and “shade of green” deepens as I encounter new “ah-ha” moments every day! Giving up convenience is not an easy task, but it is time to embrace change, and realize "green" is not a trend!
